On a trip to Florence recently, I was hugely moved by the forms of traditional ceramics housed in museums and galleries all over the city. Ceramics has held an important role in human societies for thousands of years, and I spied some truly incredible and ancient pots on my trip.
I was inspired to take some of the forms that I saw there and bring it into my own work and my own style. Made in my signiture clay, glazed with a nude glaze on the interior and left raw on the exterior, bringing the attention to the soft curves and lines of the pot itself.
